Ingredients (Serves 4)
- 3 cups boiled rice
- 1 big onion
- 6 flakes garlic
- 1 inch piece ginger
- 4 red chillies
- 500 gm boneless meat / mutton, cut into thin slivers against the grain
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 50 gm sliced tomatoes
- 1 tbsp soya sauce
- 2 tsp cornflour dissolved in 1/4 cup water
- Salt and pepper to taste

Biryani - Meat Biryani |
Grind together onion, ginger, garlic and chillies. Heat 5 tbsp oil and fry the ground paste for 1 minute. Add meat / mutton and fry to a brown color. Add mushrooms and 1 cup hot water along with tomatoes and spices and soya sauce. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and cook for 10 minutes. Add cornflour. When the sauce thickens, put the meat / mutton over hot rice and serve at once.
