Biryani - Meat Biryani


Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 3 cups boiled rice
  • 1 big onion
  • 6 flakes garlic
  • 1 inch piece ginger
  • 4 red chillies
  • 500 gm boneless meat / mutton, cut into thin slivers against the grain
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 50 gm sliced  tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp soya sauce
  • 2 tsp cornflour dissolved in 1/4 cup water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation :

Biryani - Meat Biryani
Grind together onion, ginger, garlic and chillies. Heat 5 tbsp oil and fry the ground paste for 1 minute. Add meat / mutton and fry to a brown color. Add mushrooms and 1 cup hot water along with tomatoes and spices and soya sauce.  Bring to a boil, reduce heat and cook for 10 minutes. Add cornflour. When the sauce thickens, put the meat / mutton over hot rice and serve at once.
